GeneBio collaborates with numerous research institutes, most notably the SIB, for the development of novel solutions that target the expanding market of proteomics, with a special focus on mass spectrometry-based techniques.
	An example of our MS focus is the creation of Phenyx, the next-generation MS protein characterization platform we developed while working closely with proteomics scientists to understand their current challenges and expectations.

Phenyx is a software platform for the identification and characterization of proteins and peptides from mass spectrometry data. Developed by GeneBio in collaboration with the SIB and incorporating the true probabilistic and flexible scoring system OLAV, Phenyx is specifically designed to meet the concurrent demands of high-throughput MS data analysis and dynamic results assessment.
	Phenyx is composed of two main elements, the Phenyx Client and the Phenyx Calculation Unit. The Client is available as a Web interface (Phenyx Web Interface, or PWI). The Phenyx Calculation Unit is offered as either a public server or as a local installation optimized to fit your specific instrumental and experimental environment. Evaluate individual results via multiple views (protein centric summary, compound centric view, protein details, spectrum annotation details) Export Phenyx results into Microsoft Excel and other formats Identify post-translationally modified peptides and protein slice variants as annotated in Swiss-Prot and TrEMBL Accelerate the validation of peptides with a conflicts resolution algorithm that provides color-coded results Open multiple Phenyx runs and import results from other search engines in a single view (results comparison feature) Benefit from Phenyx's use of scripts to extract information (i.e. ITRAQ reporter ion intensities for quantitation)
