Geneva Bioinformatics (GeneBio) S.A. Appoints a New CEO

Geneva, Switzerland 22th January 2003- Geneva Bioinformatics (GeneBio) S.A. announces the appointment of Mr. Nasri Nahas as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Nasri Nahas is taking the complete responsibility of GeneBio's operations and will strengthen the Company's leading position in knowledge-based bioinformatics, in particular in establishing and managing new business operations and partnerships. Dr. Ron Appel, Chairman and Scientific Founder of GeneBio S.A. states, "I am exceptionally pleased with having Nasri Nahas as our new CEO. As GeneBio's Chief Operating Officer since 2001, Nasri has led our operations from a start-up like setting to a sound, experienced and well-established company. Nasri Nahas possesses extensive international experience and a proven track record in the development, implementation and management of key cross-functional operations and projects. Prior to joining GeneBio as COO, Nasri has held various scientific and business positions within the biotech industry, particularly with Genset SA and ValiGen SA in Paris. In addition to his MBA, Nasri holds an ME in Bio-Industry as well as a BS in Biology and Medical Studies.
